Goal Review – August 20 2021

The very first version of Vision Quest was drawn in 2016 with chalk on my kitchen’s wall. I felt that I stuck in my life and I desperately needed to take care of my mental and physical health as well as my finances. Injured spine and mess in my head bothered me a lot and I really wanted to improve in this crucial areas of life. I wanted to learn to meditate, go through physiotherapy and stick to Ice Baths practice. I knew it wont be easy and it will require long term commitment and focus on this objectives. Setting up goals for the first time in 2016 helped me to take responsibility for myself, focus on the aspects of my existence that required the most of work by prioritising in daily activities. After 6 months I painted the wall white and forgot about most of the goals. It was a very mind blowing moment when I found the list of these goals in 2018 and realised that I accomplished all of them. Second thought that stroke me was that I did not make much progress in some crucial aspects of life and there were no goals related to them on the list. Gradually this became my practice until Lukasz pushed it to the next level by creating this blog in order to keep track of the goals, monitor progress, keep our self accountable, keep our expectations realistic, be understanding when the progress is slow or non-linear, come to constructive conclusion about our strategies, correct the course by adjusting the next goals to our capabilities and circumstances.

At the beginning of this year as usual we sat down and put all the objectives on a “paper” trying to give the direction of our development this year. Since then I have not looked at those goals. After coming back from the journey through the valleys and hills of my mind and the relationships with people that are close to me, the time has come to take a step back and glance at the goals and the place where I am at this stage of my life, what I need and where I should go next. I also feel that it is time to shift my attention from inner toward outer reality.
